Cancer
Mesothelioma - Most
Uncommon And Unpardonable
|
 |
|
|
|
Asbestos a group
of fibrous metamorphic
minerals which
have an special
resistance to
fire is something
that you encounter
everyday in some
products and applications
but it does not
mean that every
consumer will
be affected by
the most uncommon
and unpardonable
cancer mesothelioma.
Falling to victim
to cancer mesothelioma
differs from person
to person. Those
who are exposed
to asbestos due
to work situations
are actually in
great danger.
A company that
uses asbestos
could endanger
the life of the
workers as well
as the dwellers
dwelling near
it. Isn’t
it the responsibility
of the company
to provide appropriate
warnings and safety
precautions at
least for the
well being of
the workers from
whom they get
the support to
run their company?
The principal
cause of this
type of deadly
cancer in about
50-80% cases is
prolonged exposure
to the asbestos
that have been
commercialized
for a variety
of purposes, such
as industrial
products, roof
shingles and flooring
products. And
people involved
in occupations
like constructions
jobs in insulators,
shipyards and
boilermakers are
at a greater risk
of catching asbestos
disease. According
to the experts
the risk is more
with those people
who smokes. It
has been found
that smoking alone
is not responsible
for cancer only
by its own, but
its combination
with asbestos
exposure increases
the risk of cancer
mesothelioma.
Cancer mesothelioma
is a very unpretentious
form of cancer
which provides
only few evidences
that can be detected
until the disease
becomes staggeringly
advanced.
It has been figured
that every year
about 2000 new
cases of this
type of cancer
are diagnosed.
The disease starts
out in small lumps
in the pleura
membrane, and
the symptoms may
not come into
view until 30-50
years of exposure
to asbestos and
also may not be
scanned on X-rays,
until they are
advanced and grown
up in large size.
Chemotherapy,
Radiation Therapy,
Surgery, Photodynamic
therapy is some
of the various
treatment options
available to fight
against this type
of cancer are.
Although there
are no such treatments
to cure cancer
but can provide
you quality life.
Research is still
going on to cure
the person from
such deadly disease
completely.
Patient’s
average survival
time depends on
the level of cancer
however, with
proper care some
patients have
also been seen
living for many
years. Therefore,
it is important
for those who
are working in
asbestos prone
localities to
regularly consult
a doctor and go
for regular check
ups, so that any
possibility for
the cancer can
be diagnosed at
an earlier stage.
As you know that,
“prevention
is better than
cure”, therefore
you can reduce
the chances of
your as well as
the members of
your family getting
ill by wearing
the proper clothes
and equipment
and also taking
a shower and changing
your clothing
before leaving
the workplace.
Description:
Smoking in combination
with prolonged
asbestos exposure
increases the
risk of the rarest
and deadliest
cancer mesothelioma.
